Almost all children respond to music. Music is an open-sesame, and if you can use it carefully and appropriately, you can reach into that child’s potential for development.

Musicreative ™

Musicreative™ is a unique music education method of Hug Music that blends techniques from music therapy into music instruction available for students with all abilities to learn how to play instruments. It aims to improve children’s musical skills, teach children how to play instruements. Because music instruction is customized to each student's unique needs and learning style, students also improve important life skills such as self-esteem, and motivation & ability to learn. This unique method was created by music educator and music therapist Kana Kamitsubo in 2008 and has been highly recognized in the fields. Instructors at Hug Music are trianed with this method and suprevised by the director, Kana Kamitsubo.

Musicreative™ is music lesson, not music therapy. While music therapy is a form of treatment that solely focuses on improving clients' non-musical goals such as social and cognitive skills, Musicreative™ program is a music class that students learn music theory, singing, and how to play instruments. Words cannot express how happy we are to have found Hug Music’s program. We always knew our little girl enjoyed music and we wanted to find a special program that would help contribute to her enthusiasm and joy music brings to her. Not only did we find the right program, but in doing so we discovered what a beautiful gift and talent our little girl has. It’s amazing to see the progress our little girl has made in such a short amount of time. Watching her perform in her very first recital was such a special moment.
