Warabi Matsuoka, Music Therapist Board Certified (MT-BC), Music Educator

Ms. Warabi Matsuoka was born and raised in Hyogo, Japan. She holds a Master’s degree in Music Therapy from the State University of New York at Fredonia. In Japan, she earned a Bachelor’s degree and a Postgraduate Certificate in Music Therapy from Tokushima Bunri University. Additionally, she holds Music Therapy and Music Education licenses for junior high and high school in Japan.

Ms. Warabi has been studying piano since the age of 7 and music therapy since the age of 14. She is also proficient in playing other instruments, including the guitar, ukulele, bass trombone, violin, and Japanese harp (koto). Ms. Warabi completed her internship in a special education class, assisting K-12 students with autism, as well as 18-21-year-old students with developmental disabilities, at the Occupational Training Center in Buffalo, NY. Additionally, she worked with preschoolers diagnosed with speech and language delays and with older adults residing in a retirement home.

Ms. Warabi employs humanistic and client-centered approaches, honing her skills in identifying individuals' personalities and empowering their strengths. Her passion lies in working with children and music, creating nurturing environments that foster children's success. Ms. Warabi is dedicated to helping people bloom and bringing smiles to everyone she encounters.
