Chrissy Bernard, Board-Certified Music Therapist, Music Instructor

Chrissy Bernard is a dedicated board-certified music therapist from Boston, Massachusetts, with a rich musical background that includes singing in children’s choirs on performance tours in New York and the UK, as well as releasing and performing original music. It was during her studies at Berklee College of Music that Chrissy discovered the transformative power of music therapy. While at Berklee, she was fortunate to provide music for a varied clientele, ranging from children with disabilities and older adults to veterans. After this, she completed her music therapy internship at a preschool in Brooklyn, where she led group and individual music sessions for preschoolers with disabilities. While there, she developed her client-centered approach, where she emphasized the importance of clients making their own choices and having a sense of autonomy. Chrissy earned her Bachelor’s in Music Therapy with a minor in Psychology upon the successful conclusion of her internship.
Her skill set extends beyond vocals, encompassing proficiency in guitar, piano, and ukulele. She tailors music-based activities to cater to the unique needs, interests, and goals of each child, fostering creativity and interaction. From soulful singing sessions to instrument exploration, dynamic movement activities, and spontaneous improvisation, she strives to create a vibrant and engaging environment that facilitates the growth and development of every young learner.
